METHODOLOGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE CONTENT AND ORGANIZATION

INDEPENDENT WORK OF STUDENTS

 

  1. Independent work of the student is a form of the organization of educational process at which the planned tasks are carried out by the student under the methodical guidance of the teacher, but without his direct participation.
  2. The content of independent student work is a scientifically sound system of didactically and methodically designed educational material and is determined taking into account the structural and logical scheme of training, which is reflected in the educational and professional program and working curriculum. The content of the student’s independent work in each discipline is determined by the work program of the discipline, methodological materials, tasks and instructions of the teacher.

 

3.In the course of independent work the student:

learns theoretical material from the discipline being studied (mastering the lecture course, as well as its individual sections, topics, provisions, etc.);

consolidates knowledge of theoretical material, using the necessary tools in a practical way (solving problems, performing calculation and graphic work, performing tests, tests for self-examination, tests of physical fitness);

applies the acquired knowledge and practical skills to analyze situations and make the right decision (preparation for group discussion, preparatory work in a business game, written analysis of a specific situation, development of art projects, participation and organization of sporting events, etc.);

applies the acquired knowledge and skills to form their own position, theory, model (writing course, qualification, diploma, master’s thesis, scientific report, article, research work).

 

 

4.Independent work on the discipline for students may include various forms, which are determined by the work program, depending on the purpose, objectives and content of the discipline, the specifics of the direction of training, specialty. Conditionally independent work of students can be divided into basic and additional.

 

 

4.Basic independent work provides preparation of the student for classroom occupations and control actions on all educational disciplines of the curriculum. The results of this training are manifested in the student’s activity in the classroom, when he performs tests, tests and other types of work.

Basic independent work of students may include the following types of work:

 

elaboration of lecture material and recommended literature;

search (selection) and review of literature and electronic sources of information on an individual problem of the course;

homework;

translation of texts from foreign languages;

linguistic / stylistic analysis of texts;

independent creative work (study of musical works, work on the role, creation of works of fine, decorative and applied arts, design);

independent listening to music;

development of physical qualities, improvement of equipment and tactics in selected sports, development of personal psychological characteristics to improve sports performance;

study of the material submitted for independent processing;

workshop on the discipline using software;

preparation for laboratory work, practical (seminar) classes;

preparation for writing tests, other forms of current control;

systematization of the studied material before the semester exam.

 

 

5.Additional independent work is aimed at deepening and consolidating the student’s knowledge, development of analytical skills on the subject of the discipline. It may include the following types of work:

research work, participation in scientific student conferences, tournaments, seminars and competitions;

analysis of scientific publications on the topic determined by the teacher;

analysis of statistical and factual materials on a given topic, calculations, drawing up schemes and building models based on statistical materials;

conducting sociological, marketing and other statistical research in extracurricular time;

writing an essay, essay on a given issue;

writing works, newspaper articles, composing poems, developing scripts;

preparation of a review of a scientific article;

bibliographic review of literature on a given issue;

development of a multimedia presentation;

development of a system of exercises, practical tasks, situational tasks (dialogues, polylogues, monologues, projects, discussion);

processing of unadapted artistic / journalistic texts;

execution of individual graphic tasks;

preparation of chronological tables;

design of maps, tables and diagrams;

preparation of terminological dictionaries;

development of syllabi for physical education lessons, regulations on sports competitions and scenarios of sports and health activities.

 

 

6.Additional independent work is aimed at deepening and consolidating the student’s knowledge, development of analytical skills on the subject of the discipline. It may include the following types of work

  • information resources (reference books, textbooks, manuals, banks of individual tasks, etc.);
  • electronic computers;
  • library premises and resources, classrooms, computer classes, laboratories, sound rooms, art workshops, etc .;
  • sports facilities, equipment and appropriate sports uniform;
  • methodical materials (instructions, workshops, recommendations, etc.);
  • materials for control (examination tickets, control tasks, tests, etc.);
  • consultations by the teacher;
  • the possibility of public discussion of theoretical or practical results obtained by the student independently (debates, round tables, scientific seminars, conferences, competitions, contests).
  1. Independent work of the student is provided by the system of the educational and methodical means provided for studying of concrete academic discipline, namely:
  • programs in all disciplines;
  • programs of all types of practices;
  • textbooks, manuals, other educational and methodical literature;
  • scientific, professional monographic and periodical literature;
  • instructional and methodical materials, instructions for seminars, practical and laboratory classes;
  • tasks for seminars, practical and laboratory classes;
  • tests in academic disciplines;
  • methodical instructions for performance of individual educational and research tasks;
  • methodical instructions for course, qualification, diploma, master’s theses;
  • lists of test questions.

 

9.Independent work of the student is provided by the system of the educational and methodical means provided for studying of concrete academic discipline, namely:

  • programs in all disciplines;
  • programs of all types of practices;
  • textbooks, manuals, other educational and methodical literature;
  • scientific, professional monographic and periodical literature;
  • instructional and methodical materials, instructions for seminars, practical and laboratory classes;
  • tasks for seminars, practical and laboratory classes;
  • tests in academic disciplines;
  • methodical instructions for performance of individual educational and research tasks;
  • methodical instructions for course, qualification, diploma, master’s theses;
  • lists of test questions.
  1. The effectiveness of specific tasks for independent work of the student is evaluated in points, the number of which may be different for different types of tasks and is determined within a single faculty (institute) or department. The full list of tasks for independent and individual work, their assessment, terms and conditions of performance are brought to the notice of students at the beginning of the study of the discipline.
